Are you interested in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving skin texture and tone? The CO2RE system is one of my favorite treatments for patients interested in improving their skin texture.
CO2RE is the first fully integrated CO2 laser with 100+ indications cleared in 10 medical specialties, including dermatology, plastic surgery, and gynecology. This resurfacing treatment is the single most effective laser treatment for repairing skin in one procedure, including advanced skin damage and aging. The CO2RE system precisely targets and efficiently treats the skin with minimal downtime.
My CO2RE Laser Treatment Goals
- Reduction in lax skin, fine lines, and wrinkles on the face and neck areas
- Reduction of hyperpigmentation/photo damage
The Co2RE Laser Treatment Process
The process was straightforward. My plan included one treatment using aggressive settings. The results speak for themselves! What did it feel like? I was numbed using topical numbing cream for approximately 45 minutes before treatment and requested the use of Pro-nox during treatment to enhance my comfort.
Immediately after treatment, my face was pink and felt like it was extremely hot. This is a typical experience if you get this treatment!
PRP can be applied immediately after treatment to help speed up recovery, and the application of an ointment like Aquaphor is recommended immediately after and continues until all the peeling of the skin is done. I applied Aquaphor on my treatment areas 3-4 weeks post-treatment to best care for my skin.
The Recovery from CO2RE Laser Treatment
The recovery process is about 4-6 weeks depending on the settings used. You will look and feel very red and swollen in the treatment areas. Within one week expect your skin to begin peeling. I could not wear makeup or sunscreen until my skin was healed so staying out of the sun is a must while healing.
Are you interested in a CO2RE treatment? Here are some key things to consider prior to treatment:
Depending on the condition of your skin, you might need more than one treatment. If lighter settings are used then you will probably need three treatments. This treatment is not safe to use in an area where you have metal/surgical implants, implantable pumps, pacemakers, or if you are on medications that cause photosensitivity. Please discuss all current medications with your provider during your consultation to ensure it is an appropriate treatment option for you. Schedule a consultation today!
