Why annual and preventative care is important

Monitoring your health and wellness is our top priority. Annual exams and screening facilitate wellness and early detection of diseases. With early detection, many diseases are easier to treat or cure.

What does HerMD offer for annual care and screenings?

At HerMD, we evaluate, monitor, and treat you using effective screening methods and therapies:

Cervical cancer screening-Pap smear and HPV testing
Breast cancer screening
STD screening
Contraception- including IUDs and Nexpalnon
Cancer risk assessment with the MyRisk genetic test or the Galleri test
Obesity counseling
Adolescent care
Incontinence and pelvic floor evaluation
On-site surgical center providing minimally invasive procedures

What to expect on your visit

During your visit, you can expect your care team to listen to and address all of your concerns in a safe and trusted space. Preventative care/wellness visits at HerMD may include:

A history and physical examination
Labs
Imaging
Counseling

How often should I see my OBGYN?

At the least, yearly visits are recommended to take care of your preventative health needs. Additional appointments to discuss specific concerns are recommended as they arise.

What type of exam will be done as part of my annual visit?

A comprehensive women’s health evaluation includes:
-Pelvic exam
-Breast exam
-Heart, lung and thyroid exam
-Any other indicated exam based on history

How will I get my results?

We believe that healthcare professionals should review your exam and lab results with you. For any lab work that is done, you will meet with a provider in person or virtually to discuss the results and what it means.
