This Women’s History Month we are excited to share our favorite founders and thought leaders who are changing women’s healthcare as we know it.

From sexual wellness apps and revolutionary sexual wellness treatments to a uterine fibroids movement, these innovators lead from experience with compassion.

1. The sexual health revolution is here is at your fingertips. Dr. Lyndsey Harper is improving sexual healthcare for millions of women through personal wellness plans on her app, Rosy. This development is proof of the positive evolution of femtech in healthcare.

2. Sex can be painful. Like, really painful. Millions of women suffer from painful sex, yet they feel alone and are expected to just cope. Not any more. Ohnut founder and CEO Emily Sauer, is changing the conversation about painful sex, with a mission-driven wearable that customizes penetration depth.

3. When you think about treatments for sexual dysfunction what’s the first thing that pops into your head? Is it Viagra? If so, you’re not alone and Cindy Eckhert wants to change that with the first FDA-approved treatment option for hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD)/low libido.

4. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is more common than you realize. In fact, about 29.2% of women aged 14-29 have been diagnosed with it. What is it? It’s a type of vaginal inflammation caused by the overgrowth of bacteria found in the vagina, upsetting the natural balance. Daniella Levy founded Happy V to treat her ongoing BV symptoms and fight the stigma around BV along the way.

 5. By the age of 50, 70% of white women and 80% of Black women are diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Yet, many women suffer in silence. Tanika Gray Valbrun founded The White Dress Project – an organization dedicated to providing support, education, and hope for people living with fibroids.

6. Over 50 million women in the US are menopausal, yet, there is still a lack of education and awareness around menopausal symptoms and treatment options. Womaness founders Sally Mueller and Michelle Jacobs are on a mission to change the narrative around menopause and reframe this time period for women as the afterparty rather than the end of the party.
