At HerMD, we believe in the power of preventative care. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women, yet too often women are told to just “check back in six months” instead of addressing risk factors right away. The truth is, early action can help prevent disease and protect long-term health.

With personalized assessments, lifestyle guidance, and evidence-based tools, keeping your heart strong and healthy is achievable, and we’re here to help every step of the way.

Key to a healthy heart is understanding your individual risk factors. Cardiac assessments provide insight into cholesterol, blood sugar, inflammation, stress, and other important markers that influence your cardiovascular health. By identifying potential risks early, you can make targeted lifestyle changes, monitor progress over time, and work with your provider to create a plan that supports a strong, resilient heart for years to come.

Introducing Our Comprehensive Cardiac Assessment Panel

Our comprehensive cardiac assessment panel evaluates essential laboratory markers to help manage cardiovascular risk and support your lifelong heart health.

The HerMD Cardiac Assessment Panel includes the following lab tests:

  • Lipid Panel – evaluates “good” and “bad” cholesterol, total cholesterol, and triglycerides
  • Hemoglobin A1c –  assesses long-term blood sugar control, helps identify and diagnose diabetes
  • High-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP) – detects inflammation that can affect your heart
  • Lipoprotein(a) – a type of cholesterol influenced by your genes that can increase your risk for heart disease
  • Apolipoprotein B – counts the “bad” cholesterol-carrying particles that can clog arteries
  • Lipoprotein Fractionation – provides deeper insight into cholesterol particle size, helping identify small, dense particles that may increase heart disease risk

Additional labs may be recommended for individuals with elevated risk, abnormal screening results, a significant family history, or other clinical reasons.

In certain cases, your provider may also recommend imaging, such as a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) score, to get a clearer picture of heart health.

For individuals taking hormone therapy, it’s often recommended to have a cardiac risk assessment every year to monitor and maintain heart health.
