If you experience anxiety during aesthetic treatments or medical procedures like me, you may want to consider adding Pro-Nox to your next appointment at HerMD.

For me, the biggest draw of Morpheus8 (M8)  is the effective approach to enhancing facial contours. Over the past two years, I have seen countless incredible M8 results from HerMD patients, head to toe. I decided to proceed with a morephus8 treatment targeting the face and under the chin after consultation with Karen Medeiros, RN, at HerMD Franklin. I decided to add Pro-Nox onto the Morpheus8 treatment to maximize comfort, as it helped reduce my anxiety during my IUD removal

The goals for my plan included:

  • Reduce pore size
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve uneven skin texture
  • Treat excess fat in the neck

The Process:

Upon arrival, Karen walked me through the treatment process and began the service by adding tropical numbing cream to the treatment areas. We let the numbing cream set for approximately 45 minutes before beginning treatment with the Morpheus8 device.

Once the numbing cream was fully set, I began the use of the self-administered Pro-Nox, and Karen started the M8 treatment on the underchin and lower face areas. She went over the lower part of the face three times and the upper part of the face twice, with different needle depths.

There were a few areas that got increasingly spicy with each pass. Pro-Nox was a much-needed distraction, enhancing comfort throughout!

After treatment, I experienced redness and swelling for two days and undereye bruising for approximately a week. My post-care treatment included a skincare routine of gentle cleanser, SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex, and Aquaphor. About ten days after treatment, the treatment areas were completely back to normal.  Three weeks after treatment, I’m noticing a reduction in excess fat under the chin, reduced undereye puffiness, and increased skin buoyancy.  I have not had Botox on my forehead in approximately six months, yet my forehead is taught!

I will have a series of three Morpheus8 treatments in total, my second being in the spring of 2024. Stay tuned for an update!

What is Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is an analgesic (a medication that relieves pain) composed of 50% Oxygen and 50% Nitrous Oxide, delivered before a procedure or treatment to help alleviate pain and anxiety and increase comfort. Pro-Nox is similar, but slightly different in composition, to the “laughing gas” that is administered at dental offices nationwide. It is safe, effective, and easy to use and offers superior infection control with the use of the internal on-demand valve. Learn more about Pro-Nox here

Is Pro-Nox available at all HerMD locations?

Yes! Pro-Nox is available as an add-on to several medical procedures and aesthetic services at all HerMD locations. If you’re interested in this add-on, I highly recommend discussing your options with your provider or healthcare team during your next appointment.
